About the Club. . . .
Why Join Pantera International?
Because Pantera International is
THE club for the DeTomaso owner, mechanic, collector and historian. Founded
in 1973, PI has members worldwide who enthusiastically endorse our efforts on behalf of
all DeTomaso automobile owners. We are a factory authorized De Tomaso Club by authority of
De Tomaso Modena S.p.A. Ownership of a DeTomaso automobile is not required to join.
We strongly believe
joining this club is well worth it. The annual dues for new U.S. members are
$75.00, membership dues for
foreign members are $85.00. Here is what you will receive for your money:
- QUARTERLY PUBLICATION
Each issue is fact-filled with wide ranging, beautifully photographed, well written
articles such as the latest technical nuggets, DeTomaso automobile feature articles,
how-to-do-it articles, restoration
advice, toys and models and interviews with the persons most knowledgeable about the
marque. This information is presented in our thorough, easy to understand, unique format.
Issues are generally 84 pages in length. Our magazines are now
all-color. On the collector market, our out of print issues fetch prices as high as $100.00
apiece! We have the largest DeTomaso library and photo gallery in place this side of
Modena and the experience and knowledge to document all things DeTomaso. Our editorial
staff is made up of respected and knowledgeable DeTomaso authorities.
- TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND HISTORIC RESEARCH CAPABILITIES
Members may use our 24 hour phone line or FAX us to find out the answers to their
questions. Usually the answer to any question will already be contained in an article that
has already appeared in one of our magazines
published since 1973. If not, we will present your question to one of our panel of
experts. We support this marque and will help as much as possible to give you the
knowledge you need to keep your automobile on the road or perhaps to help you finish that
restoration project. Our feature articles will inspire you with new ideas and new thinking
on updating the car or in the alternative restoring it to the highest Concours standards.
We may even be able to assist you in locating that vital missing part or impossible to
find ancient magazine article.
- DISCOUNTS ON MERCHANDISE
Pantera International has its own club store where members can find items not available
anywhere else. Collectors already cherish past issues of PI. Some issues have already been
sold out, but yet, members can still purchase most of the back issues at reasonable
prices. You will be kept up to date as a member on what is new on the shelves of the PI
store. PI is also the only DeTomaso club to have published a hardbound book, DeTomaso:
the Man and the Machines. This exhaustive text is a must have for your bookshelf.
Other books are planned. Furthermore, PI
Motorsports, Inc. offers our members a minimum 5% discount on all
merchandise purchased. You probably will save more on parts than the
cost of your membership.
- MEMBERSHIP IN AN ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZED AS UNIQUE IN THE
HISTORY OF MARQUE CLUBS
Early in the evolution of Pantera International, we distinguished ourselves from other
clubs by taking an advocacy position on behalf of the Pantera owner. We wanted to make
sure there would be a car and replacement parts available for future owners to use and
enjoy. In recent years the club has taken an aggressive stance in pushing for admission of
the marque to more Concours and Vintage races. We hope that our actions will be
instrumental in propelling the marque to the recognition it deserves as one of the world's
greatest exotic automobiles. Look for Pantera International at vintage races, Concours,
literature fairs, Ford and Pantera conventions. If PI has anything to say about it,
DeTomaso will not become just another obscure marque. You as a member are also encouraged
to share information you have gathered by writing a letter to the editor in our color, quarterly magazine.
- PANTERA INTERNATIONAL IS THE OFFICIAL MARQUE CLUB AT THE
WORLD FAMOUS CONCORSO ITALIANO
The most prestigious Italian sports car Concours in this country, if not the world, is the
elegant Concours Italiano, held each year in beautiful Monterey in August. Our club is the
sole, sponsoring club for the DeTomaso marque. We host our annual reunion for members and
friends each year and provide a memorable weekend for those who wish to attend with other
members. We also present a special club corral, trackside at Laguna Seca where you can
park your DeTomaso car next to the club tent and share in a grand luncheon while the
vintage cars go screaming by.
- A DeTOMASO ONLY MARKETPLACE
Of course, there are many places to advertise cars for sale, but we present a
"DeTomaso Only" advertising section that is rich with all types of DeTomaso
automobiles for sale, or in which members can advertise for one they would like to buy
with ads free of charge.
