PANTERA-RARE
1974 GTS One of 98 produced for the
U.S.
A beautiful Italian
work of art designed by De Tomaso.
Six years restoration was completed in October 2006. Car is
now finished better than new, and slightly upgraded.
It has been shown twice, and judged as “Best in Shown”.
A third owner of
California
car in nice condition before restoration, which was stored in a
hanger under the wing of the second owner’s airplane.

Exterior

Complete bodywork
and paint using House of Kolor (Hok) paint. Exceptional paint job of
Black and Orion Silver with 6 coats of clear coat.
All hoses and wires were moved underneath the right wheel
well area. It has all original GTS flares.
The front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition.
Car has all new felt and rubber throughout.
Rubber and many parts were purchased from Wilkinson Pantera.
New windshield and rear glass was installed. All plastic surrounding
lights was re-chromed. A California Car cover is included.

Undercarriage

The undercarriage
was wire wheeled down to bare metal. I found one small rust spot
about ¼ to 3/8 inch. This
was cut out and repaired to original.
Then the undercarriage was etch primed, then undercoated and
then painted Hok Black. The
undercarriage looks as nice as the top of the car. I spent about 200
hours on the undercarriage.

Suspension

A-Arms were sand
blasted and then powder coated in gloss black.
New bushing, bearing, seals, ball joints and ties rod ends
were installed. All
bolts underneath car were replaced.
New adjustable Chrome Aldan coil-overs put on. Half shaft
were painted Hok Black. New U joints, and stainless steel brake
lines were installed. Backing
plates were powder coated, new front and rear brakes and wheel
cylinder were installed.

Engine

Engine was
completely rebuilt by SS Automotive in
Fremont
,
CA
. NEW: Pistons,
Cam
, Roller Rockers, 10 qt. Oil pan, Motor Mounts, Holley Carb,
starter, alternator, center force clutch, pressure plate, fly wheel,
ceramic coated headers, stainless steel mufflers, and an Optima Gel
Cell battery were all installed. I also added power steering, which
is not a factory option.

Cooling
|

New green belt hose
was installed. All
water tubes were powder coated and new clamps, Fluidine radiator;
stainless overflow tanks; New A/C compressor; condenser and Spal
fan; new A/C lines and changed to R134; the gas tank was
reconditioned.

Interior
|
 |
The dash, center
console and gauge areas were done to O.E.M. specs by Dashes in LA,
CA. The seats, door
panels, arm rests and all inside trim pieces were reupholstered in
leather. Headliner
is perforated like original in leather. New carpet inside the car,
in trunk, and luggage area. New
seat belts, new dash switches and the clock was rebuilt.
Vents are in perfect condition. The steering wheel leather
was redone.

New 17” Billet
Aluminum wheels like the Campinol’s with Michelin Sport Pilot
tires: Front 235/45R17 Rear 335/45R17.
I have the original wheels on hand. |
